Chaeology.com is an on-line graphic design portfolio of Julian Oh. Julian was born in South Korea on a frigid January night. As a kid growing up in Korea, he loved reading manga books, watching kung-fu movies, drawing and (little did he know) design. He vividly remembers, as a teenager, redrawing MTV logo over and over again on a piece of paper just for fun. He didn't know it then that sort of thing was called graphic design or that there was a such profession, but his interest in graphic design was slowly developing at an early age.
After successfully completing the BFA Graduation Show at FSU Museum of Fine Arts, he graduated in Spring of 2005 with Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design with Cum Laude. After graduating, he continued his part-tiime work at Student Life Cinema at FSU designing movie posters, PowerPoint slide advertising, short introductory videos and their main website (movies.fsu.edu). After finishing the website for SLC, he moved back to Orlando, Florida and found a full-time job at a small company called UGP Underground Products, where he designed graphics for t-shirts, board shorts, stickers and posters for their 2006 clothing line. In 2007, he accepted a job at IRS Media and Publication division in Washington, DC, where he continues to work as a designer today.
He is currently accepting freelance work for a reasonable cost in broad spectrums of industries. He will also consider pro-bono on some projects. His specialty includes but not limited to: T-shirt graphics, brochures, posters, book covers, CD covers, booklets, magazines, catalogs, business cards, newsletters, logos and other print designs. Over the years, he has learned that design is a collaborative process between the client and the designer. Communication is the key, because given half a chance, he'll always make you look good, but without the mutual understanding between the client and the designer, even the coolest design can be misunderstood easily. He'll always put communication and needs of the client first before his creative outlet. That said, he believes that best clients are ones who already understand this process, and if you're willing to collaborate, he will work most diligently to meet your needs.
For an assignment, please contact Julian to further discuss your project needs and your budget. Thank you.
